Cats in the Neighborhood (I Only See Cats Today)

Inspired by the Police's "King of Pain".

Cats in the Neighborhood (I Only See Cats Today)

There's a little black cat on the porch today
He's the same black cat as yesterday
(That's my cat up there)

There's a black cat up in the high tree top

There's a tortoiseshell cat and her meows won't stop

There's a brown tabby sitting on a garden wall
There's a grey tabby beside him who's rather small

There's a tuxedo cat basking near the garden step
There's a torbie who over him leapt

There’s a cat with white fur who’s just come out
There's another one, looking just a little bit stout

There's an orange tabby sleeping on a flower bed
There's a calico who looks like she might be his friend

There's a grey cat there on the logs all stacked

There's a colorpoint cat lying on his back

I have stood here before in the neighborhood
With the cats running circles running round in play
I guess I’m always hoping I’ll see some dogs
But it’s my destiny to see the cats today

Cats today
I only see cats today
